No Practice? No Problem!

Due to a rowing tournament, dragon boat practice was suspended for all teams this past weekend. On Saturday morning, Space Dragons joined a couple of other teams to take advantage of this downtime and do routine maintenance on some of the boats.

The wood on the gunwales and benches gets worn down from weathering and normal wear and tear. It needs to be sanded down and varnished periodically.

2nd Annual Space Dragons Kayak Challenge

We set off to visit the moon jellies at the north end of Long Beach Marina. After some quality time with the non-stinging local wildlife, it was time for some races! The race format was two different heats, with the winners and runners-up from each heat competing in the final.

All the trash talking culminated in an epic sea battle!
