1. PRACTICE POLL
- Do your part to make sure poll is accurate: I’m sure you read my rant on SpaceBook!
- Respond/Update the poll accordingly by 7pm Wed. If you miss the cutoff, email captains@spacedragons.org of your intention to go or cancel, and follow through!

2. GUEST STEERS AVAILABILITY – Sat/Sun Oct 20/21
- Step is looking for a steer to help out with DPW practices, any takers? Email Step ASAP
3. POKER NIGHT – Sat Oct 27th
- Still time to sign up on the Evite, participation limited!
- Timed perfectly early in the day to free up morning and evening!

4. FUNDRAISER @ THE ROSE BOWL – Sat Nov 24 & Tues Jan 1
- We
are going to help sell concessions during UCLA football games at the
Rose Bowl. We are working with another group to work on November 24 (v.
Stanfud) and January 1 (the Rose Bowl Game).
- Jan 1 date fully staffed: Awesome!!!
- We're almost there, but need a few more people for the Nov 24th. ONLY a few more! Join the adventure!

We'll be manning a concession stand together - selling drinks, food,
snacks, preparing burgers and hot dogs, manning the cash register.

- For those of you who have already signed up, please take a moment to sign up on the official volunteer sign-up page, here. When signing up, please use enter your name normally but adding "X-" before your last name (i.e., "Johnny X-Smith"). This helps the organizers and me easily figure out how many volunteers are Space Dragons.

Everyone else, as you can see, more help is needed! We are hoping to
provide half of the required number of volunteers for both dates.
5. SPLASHING FLYERS BOWLING TOURNAMENT – Sat Nov 10th
Splashing
Flyers are again hosting their annual Inter-Dragon Boat Bowling
Tournament on Sat Nov 10th, 2p-5:30p. Splashing sweeps it every year,
can Space be a contender this year?

7. 2012 NAPLES CHRISTMAS BOAT PARADE – Sat Dec 17th
- SAVE THE DATE ... You DON'T want to miss this event
- Yes we've done it before and won 2 awards! It's A LOT of work and a lot of FUN to design, build and paddle your entry!
- No guaranty that we will get the limited opportunity (only 2 Dragon Boats allowed), but need to know we have an eager crew willing to put in the work to design and build so we can grab a spot!
- Only $5-$10 to help cover supplies!
8. OLD CELL PHONE DONATIONS – From Step and AJ
We
are collecting old cell phones for Hope Phones, which reuses and recycles old
cell phones in any condition. They receive the value of each recycled phone to
purchase supplies for Medic Mobile, a
non-profit that has helped over 600k+ patients in 15 countries.

9. 2012 CHRISTMAS CHARITY –
Garth Kemp’s “Stuff a Bus” – Marina

We will be participating in a So. Ca fund raiser to provide toys for children
who are in need.
- Paddlers can bring their donation of new
toys to Saturday practices, beginning Nov. 3 =)
