Msg from Yilin - Music Lessons

A plug for Yilin ...

******************************************************************************
I've been a professional musician for years, and now I'm starting to teach voice and violin. I teach beginners, advanced beginners, intermediate and advanced intermediate students. Children and pre-teens are most welcome, but even adults can take lessons, so they don't have to be shy! My request of Space Dragons is if you hear your coworkers or friends are looking for voice lessons or violin lessons for themselves or their kids, would you kindly refer them to me! A cool bonus is that I teach in students' homes, so it's ultra convenient for them. My contact is TwinStarYi@gmail.com.

My goal is to get 10 new students by the end of July. I work in the San Gabriel Valley (Pasadena, San Marino, Alhambra) and the South Bay (El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa.) Thank you my friends! *Go Space Dragons!* ~ Yilin Hsu ~ yilinandjalin.vpweb.com

Sneaker Recycling Drive!

From Tammy:

"ReuseA-Shoe"
My daughters school (Lincoln Elementary) is having their first ever Sneaker Recycle week. They have learned that Nike recycles sports sneakers of any brand. The materials from these shoes are used to make playgrounds, running tracks, courts, and fields.

To celebrate World Environment Day, we would like to do our part by collecting old or worn-out sneakers to help save our Earth’s landfills and build more sports and play areas. It takes about 2,500 sneakers to make a playground, so let’s get it started!

The shoe drive starts on World Environment Day, this Thursday, June 5th, and ends Wednesday, June 11th. Please bring your sneaker donations to practice this weekend and give to Caesar on Saturday or Tammy on Sunday!

Please no metal or cleats or dress shoes!

Thank you!

Tammy

In case you are interested - Lost Puppy Needs Home

via Tony from the SoCal DB community (LARD):

As many of you know, I found a puppy running on the freeway onramp last week (5/25). Evelyn and I posted signs in the neighborhoods around where the puppy was found. We also contacted and posted signs in the local humane society and animal shelter. So far, we don't have anyone to claim the puppy.

Evelyn and I
cannot keep the puppy, so we have been trying to find someone to adopt the puppy. The puppy is very friendly. She bounces all over the place being a puppy. She is curious about everything. It's actually quite entertaining to watch. But, she has to share attention with 2 big labs in our home.

Puppyhood is such an amazing time that she deserves to
have someone's undivided attention / appreciation. We've decided to give it a few more days to try to find a home for her. If we cannot find someone to adopt her by Tuesday night, we'll have to bring her to the local shelter / humane society on Wednesday (6/4).

Thanks. Tony

If any of you want a puppy, or know someone that might -> email lb.space.dragons@gmail.com & we'll pass info along to Tony.
