SPACE DRAGON FAMILY & FRIENDS:
1. BLOOD DONATIONS NEEDED ASAP
One of our fellow LB paddlers, Helen Le (KG), has a 2-year old son with a heart condition that requires surgery. He will need at least 2 pints of blood during the surgeryand possibly more transfusions during the surgery or post-op. The Children's Hospital of Los Angeles can receive directed blood donations in his name. Christopher's blood type is O+. If you are able to donate for his surgery, he can receive from O+ or O- donors between TUES June 9th - THUR June 11th. Blood can be continued to be donated afterwards, in case it's needed post-op. Any blood that he does not need, will be donated to others in need. This means those with other blood types can donate too, to benefit other children at CHLA. 5. ITS BACK! THE IRON DRAGON CHALLENGE! (Sat. June 6)
Join us for a relaxing hike! After practice, land workout, and the ensuing lunch feeding frenzy, come down to Space Dragon Mountain Training Facility (AKA Chateau Luu), and enjoy a relaxing 5 - 6 miles hike with amazing views overlooking Orange County, Laguna Beach and even Catalina (depending on fog). The trails are fairly moderate and we are not going to have heavy packs, so hiking boots are not necessary. Running shoes are okay on these trails. Definitely bring water with you for this hike, even though it is not very long, it can be hot and dusty up there. And bring a camera, we frequently see baby quails, lizards, cute bunnies and occasionally bobcats and snakes, Yay! Following the hike we can hit the hot tub, pool, and then grill up some dinner!
