What an AMAZING weekend!!!
All the hard work we've put in both on and off the water is paying off! Everyone's fitness level is up, and it made a huge difference in getting our boats across the finish line. This is definitely our best Tempe performance in Space Dragons history, with:
2nd Place in 250m Races2nd Place in 1000m Races
3rd Place Mens Division
3rd Place Womens Division
3rd Place Masters Division
We worked our asses off, made it through SD Hell Week and earned that hardware!! BUT, those placements I listed up there... that's not what I'm the most proud of. I'm proud because we ran our own race. From the first race of the weekend, everyone was focused in our boat. We ran our program that we've practiced over and over back at home. This right here is proof that races are won and lost at home.
It's early season no longer. With three months down, we are in fact 1/3 of the way into our season - right in the meat of it! The competition is just going to get bigger and better. One month to Baby LB ... two months to Alcan ... four months to Big LB ... six months to TI. We now have a solid foundation on which to build the rest of our season. Use this momentum and hit it even harder. Six months left in the season. Together, let's see what we can do!
